An exceptional creator, Patrick Gavigan was not short of inspiration. He came to me with an idea, a domain, and the story he wanted his website to tell. Busy with playing shows what seems almost daily, he allowed me to take the wheel and uncover his vision.
The challenge would be to build a portfolio site that would simply display his upcoming shows, a biography, and music that he had created. We wanted to give his fans the information about where they could find him while also providing potential venues with the information they needed to make booking decisions. The idea was to display his upcoming shows in a calendar view and highlight some key shows on the homepage.
Hosting a media kit on the website where potential venues could grab images quickly was a joint venture. Through my experience in hospitality as a General Manager, I understood the challenges that came from booking and promoting musical acts, so having these digital assets readily available would support the venues he would be playing at.
The first iteration of the website is clean and straightforward. A recent photo shoot for high-resolution headshots gave him incredible images that would support the site, and his biography needed only minor adjustments.
As with all website builds, the interaction is only partially complete when the site goes live. Setting up Google Analytics to understand website traffic moving forward and make adjustments where necessary is essential to the success of a website.
As Patrick continues to grow and develop his brand, he plans to expand the site with additional features.
